Pushing boundaries with Trust

Trust Company of America delivers back-office solutions to financial advisors. Though small in shadows of the Charles Schwabs and TD Ameritrades, Trust boasts an all-in-one software platform which allows advisors to access clients’ portfolios, make trades, and perform every other daily task, across multiple portfolios, in the same program.

Trust came to Riley Weiss with one goal: differentiation. Their brand needed to stand out on the flooded desks of advisors. The financial industry is a sea of blue, and Trust’s branding was sinking them with predictable palettes and forgettable imagery. They didn’t have the marketing allowances of bigger competitors, but they had a unique offering. So we set out to make them look different—way different—in order to rise above the thick competition.

In our design concepts we pushed Trust out of their comfort zone, but they trusted us to take them to an appropriate place. With bold, unexpected images our design team created a cohesive visual style, which we produced in corporate, 401K and thought-leadership brochures, advertisements, investment slipsheets, trade-show booths and conversion kits.

Riley Weiss also worked with Trust to develop a new name and logo for their technology platform, to better package their key, differentiating offering. Trust Company of America exhibits something we love to see in clients: the daring to show how they’re different.
